ONE EVALUATION. FULL CLARITY.

A premium function-based assessment with integrated Cost of Future Care recommendations—defensible, comprehensive, and curated for complex cases.

What Is the Clarity FCSWE?

The Functional Capacity Screen Work Evaluation (FCSWE) is a specialized, in-clinic evaluation designed for clients with concussion, migraine-related disorders, vestibular conditions, or cognitive impairments that impact their ability to perform daily or work-related tasks, including screen use.

The core Day 1 evaluation assesses:

  • Visual–Vestibular Functioning: eye coordination, convergence, gaze stability, dizziness

  • Cognitive Functioning: attention, memory, processing speed, executive function

  • Physical Functioning: ability to meet sedentary work demands

  • Functional Impact: task performance, symptom tolerance, environmental complexity

For clients with labour-intensive job titles, an optional Day 2 can be added—a full physical Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), assessing:

  • Sitting, standing, walking

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling

  • Reaching, handling, and low-level work

This flexibility ensures that both cognitive and physical demands are evaluated according to each client’s job title—without excluding any population.

FCSWE vs. Traditional FCE

Standard FCEs do not assess vision, vestibular function, or cognitive function The Clarity FCSWE™ provides a complete picture.

  • Focusing on digital work demands

  • Evaluates cognitive, visual, oculomotor, and vestibular challenges impacting function

  • Assessing the interplay between visual, vestibular, cognitive, and physical domains

  • Translating findings into a legally defensible report

Our evaluations answer the critical question:

“Why is this client still struggling, and what functional limitations remain?”

Why It Matters in Legal Contexts

Standard assessments—including traditional FCEs—do not evaluate the visual or vestibular systems, nor their combined impact on function.

These domains are not hidden—they are simply not assessed.

The Clarity FCSWE™ was developed to close that gap.

  • Evaluates cognitive, physical, visual, and vestibular domains through a functional lens

  • Identifies not only the presence of limitations, but how those limitations manifest in daily life tasks such as driving, navigating visually complex environments, and performing daily or work activities

  • Highlights impact across home, work, school, recreational, and relational domains

  • Provides a clear opinion on the client’s overall work capacity—whether they are competitively employable, employable with accommodations, or non-employable—based on visual, vestibular, cognitive, and physical capacity in relation to their actual job title

The FCSWE doesn’t merely describe barriers—it identifies them clearly in a defensible, structured, and evidence-based format.

Findings support recommendations that are essential to capturing the full range of services, equipment, and supports the client may require to manage their visual, vestibular, cognitive, and psychosocial needs post-injury—laying the foundation for an accurate and robust Cost of Future Care analysis.

The result is a report that clarifies the client’s capacity, limitations, and recommendations for Cost of Future Care in a format that is clear, credible, and court-ready.
